Craving the perfect French Toast but still want an extra protein boost? Look no further! This recipe packs only 179 calories and 18 grams of protein PER SLICE!
2 slices Trader Joe's sprouted grain bread (or other brand of higher protein bread)
1 whole egg
1 egg white
1/4-1/2 cup vanilla almond milk
3/4 scoop MyProtein Whey Protein Isolate (or your fav protein powder)
Cinnamon to taste
Preheat a skillet pan on medium heat. Mix egg, egg white, almond milk, cinnamon, and protein powder in a mixing bowl. Add 1 slice of bread at a time and let soak 1 minute each side.
Add bread to skillet and cook about 1 minute per side until slightly browned or to desired finish.
Serve with toppings (my fav are berries, peanut butter or powdered peanut butter, sugar-free syrup, and/or light whipped cream) and ENJOY!
Makes 2 servings but you can simply double or triple the recipe as needed for more delectable pieces.
